Bangkok, Thailand – Tuesday 2nd February, 2016: Regents International College, Bangkok  will provide local teaching support for programmes offered by  the University of London International Programmes from September 2016. This is the first time students in Thailand will be able to access highly regarded study programmes from the University of London International Programmes.

Specifically, Regent’s International College will provide local teaching support in Economics, Management, Finance and the Social Sciences (EMFSS) for which academic direction is provided by the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). The University of London’s International Foundation Programme (IFP) will also be on offer.  Students will be able to study the following programmes: BSc Accounting & Finance, BSc Business and Management and BSc Economics & Management.

The courses have been introduced as Thailand joins the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) and Thailand’s workforce is required to compete on a more international basis for job opportunities around the region. With a greater need for internationally recognised qualifications, the programmes being introduced at Regent’s International College will enhance the current offerings in Thailand and give students the opportunity to attain world class qualifications.

The courses from the University of London International Programmes focus on the highly demanding skills that will prepare Thai-based students for the increasingly demanding challenges in the job market, whilst giving them access to some of the world’s most comprehensive university courses.

Since 1858, University of London degrees have been accessible to students all over the world through the University of London International Programmes.  Many of its students and alumni have gone on to make their mark on the world; these include seven Nobel Laureates, including Nelson Mandela.

Today, the University of London International Programmes is truly international in character, with over 50,000 students in more than 180 countries. Academic direction for the programmes offered through the University of London International Programmes is provided by member institutions of the University itself.

Academics at these member institutions develop syllabuses, prepare study materials and assess students. This means that students benefit from the academic rigour and leading-edge research undertaken by the member institutions. It also helps to ensure that the University of London qualifications are of the same high academic standard, wherever they are attained.

In the case of the undergraduate programmes in Economics, Management, Finance and Social Sciences (EMFSS), academic direction is provided by the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). While the academic direction of IFP (International Foundation Programme) is provided by University of London International Programmes directly. On successful completion of their studies, students will be awarded a University of London degree or diploma. The certificate will state that students were registered with the University of London and that examinations were conducted by LSE (for EMFSS) or by the University of London (for IFP).
